The balanced Blackwing. Firm point, dark graphite, loved by calligraphers and illustrators.
Why This Exists
The Blackwing Pearl sits right in the middle — softer than the 602, firmer than the Matte. It's the versatile all-rounder with a balanced graphite core that's smooth, dark, and holds its point. A favorite of calligraphers and illustrators who need both control and expression.
Made with California incense-cedar and premium Japanese graphite, the Pearl features a pearlescent finish (available in white, pink, or blue), the iconic square ferrule, and replaceable eraser. It's the Goldilocks pencil — not too soft, not too firm, just right for everything from lettering to sketching.
What Makes It Good
- Balanced graphite core — firm point with dark lines, versatile for writing and drawing (approx. 2B/3B grade)
- Premium Japanese graphite — smooth, dark, responsive
- Genuine incense-cedar barrel — sustainably harvested California wood, sharpens evenly
- Iconic square ferrule — replaceable white eraser with clip design
- Pearlescent finish — available in white, pink, or blue with silver imprint
- Made in Japan — crafted to Blackwing's exact specifications
Who This Is For
