The Lamy Z28 converter lets you use bottled fountain pen ink instead of disposable cartridges — opening up thousands of ink colours while reducing waste. It's designed specifically for Lamy's Safari-style pens with a guidepost system that clicks securely into place.
With a simple piston mechanism operated by the red twist knob, filling is straightforward: dip the nib in ink, twist to draw it up, and you're ready to write. At 0.8ml capacity, it holds slightly less than a T10 cartridge but the trade-off is worth it for ink variety and sustainability. The two guideposts on the sides ensure the converter sits firmly in Safari, AL-star, Vista, Joy, Lx, and Nexx models — preventing leaks and wobbling that can occur with generic converters.

Tom stocks some of the best quality and designed stationary products you can find in New Zealand. His customer service is also top draw and excellent. I had a few issues with a pen I had bought, Tom offered some tips to help work through and after that didn’t work he offered some store credit to try something else.
