Why This Exists
MD Paper is legendary for writing but too thin for envelopes—your words would show through. Midori solved this by creating double-layered envelopes: MD Paper on the outside (same cream tone, same texture) with a thin tissue liner inside. This preserves the writing comfort while keeping correspondence private, making these envelopes an actual extension of MD Paper rather than generic containers for it.
The Sideways orientation (114 × 180mm) is designed specifically for horizontally-ruled MD Letter Pad sheets folded in thirds. The V-shaped gummed flap provides traditional envelope closure with proper adhesive seal. These aren't office supply envelopes trying to be nice; they're MD Paper envelopes designed as part of the correspondence system.

Amazing!!!!! there is nothing like this store in Hamilton or even Auckland, speciality stationery and so much of it is Japanese, my fav! Very cute store. Penco, Midori, Supreme, Moleskine, etc. inside an old fashioned arcade, easy enough to find.
