Subtle guidance, maximum freedom. Dots that help without hovering.

Why This Exists

Made in Japan by Midori, paper specialists since 1950. This is the MD Notebook Journal in Dot Grid—designed for people who want just enough structure to keep things aligned, but nothing that interferes with their thinking. A 5mm dot grid in pale green provides guidance for writing, sketching, or organizing without dominating the page.

Every page uses fountain-pen-friendly MD PAPER, thread-stitched to lay completely flat. Two larger dots at the top of each page mark where to write dates or titles. It's a notebook that gives you subtle structure, then disappears.

What Makes It Good

  • Lays flat — thread-stitched binding
  • MD Paper — fountain-pen friendly, zero bleed
  • 192 pages — approximately 6 months of daily use
  • Dot grid layout — 5mm pale green dots, unobtrusive
  • Undated — start anytime, skip days, use flexibly
  • Minimal cover — glassine paper wrapper you can keep or remove
  • Includes extras — bookmark ribbon, numbered index stickers (1-12), label stickers
